I always thought of Car Tender as being an honest business until I went over records of a vehicle I had recently bought. You guys charged the owner $370.00 to replace brake fluid in the the reservoir. Not a complete brake flush and not one component was replaced. It is noted as plain as day that the fluid was siphoned from the reservoir and refilled. I have 25 years in the European auto repair business and read all of the repair orders throughly and was very disappointed to see how you guys took advantage of the previous owner of this car. There are several other jobs where it appears book time was almost double what current Alldata times are. I understand you need to be profitable, but some of these charges are out right ridiculous.
Greetings Tom, With every customer we always strive to give the best service for both the customer and their vehicle. I would agree that our standard statement on the repair order is lacking and needs to be updated, but I assure you we wouldn’t ever just siphon the brake fluid from the reservoir and refill. That isn’t a service we would ever recommend or even perform. When we perform a brake fluid renew service we remove the old fluid from the reservoir, fill the reservoir with new specified fluid, completely flush the entire brake hydraulic system according to manufacturer’s recommended procedure. On vehicles where it is required, we run the ABS, DSC, SBC, ESP, etc., system. On vehicles with a manual transmission (with a standard clutch master and slave cylinder), we flush this system as well. Please give me a call if you would like to discuss this further or have any other concerns. Thank you, Russell Kimble (206-324-0345)
