I've been taking my 1997 BMW 328is to Car Tender since 2004. Before Car Tender I was always leery of mechanics because I've had many treat me as an idiot, over charged and talked down to me (as a woman). Car Tender has NEVER done any of that to me and always takes the time to discuss any issues or concerns I might have with my car.I've always been highly pleased with the service and quality provided by Car Tender and want to recommend them with 5 stars. If you want honest, reliable service, trust these guys with your vehicles. For those negative commenters I ask, have you ever seen any of the guys standing around or their lot empty? There is NO way that a mechanic would stay in business (and such high demand) if they aren't as consistently good as these guys. People trust their classics to these guys to repair so I think my 1997 is in more than capable hands!

This place is great. I've had my 1986 325 repaired there, and they even called a week later to see how it was doing. When I was in an accident they were very helpful with insurance, etc, and even offered to take it to the body repair shop when they were done, since I was out of town. All the employees there have been very patient, helpful, and informative. I've always dreaded car repairs, and been intimidated by the process, but I feel very comfortable with the people at Car Tender and would recommend it to anyone.

I was given an estimate of $700.00 for the work on my BMW - 3 days later when I finally asked if we were still within the $700, they said 'ah no, we are now at $1700.00. I told them to stop all work on the car, and it still took another day to get my car back, and the final bill was $1800.00! they were also rude. terrible experience overall.

If you want your BMW or Mercedes repaired by some truly good mechanics that know what they're working on, these are the guys to bring it to. They are good at what they do. Two of the three owners were the foremen at BMW Seattle a long time ago, when the dealer was independently owned. They have seen and dealt with many car issues. That's a big plus. They can make good educated guesses after looking at some things under the hood as to where a problem may be for complex issues. As cars become more and more controlled by electronics, a mechanic that understands the mechanics and the electronics of the car is gold. They're expensive. If you have something simple like an oil change, spark plug replacement, or coolant flush, learn to do it yourself. It's easy, and you'll save a lot of money which can roll back into a repair you'll truly need these guys to work on. The mark of a good mechanic is one that minimizes any come backs for issues related to the original breakdown.Mitigating their high labor rate is their experience and their ethics. These guys are honest, and tell it like it is. Use them when you have a real repair you need to have done on your car. This is how you'll get value for your car repair dollar.

Ok, so these folks make buying a Mercerdes Benz (one of the biggest mistakes of my life because it is so expensive to fix) a lot easier to reconcile with. Why? They are honest, not nearly as expensive as a dealership would be, are quick to fix it, and they are some of the nicest guys on the planet. Ask for Patrick, he is the nicest.

This a solid mechanic shop. You will get what you pay for in a solid luxury car independent shop. If it isn't right, I know that these guys will make it right and care about their profession, service, and reputation. Sound good? It is. A pleasure bringing my old Mercedes here for several years . Thanks Car Tender.

I moved here from california a couple years ago. I brought in my 98 bimmer 540. I am really particular about the car. It has 139m miles, but still runs strong. I brought it in for a front end alignment, set $350. They told me I needed new tie rod ends and my bill would be more like 1350, not happy. However, i have taken my car to several bimmer dealers asking them to find a front end problem, not handling good enough.Sure enough when i got the car back, it ran better than when i bought it in 2002. They are little pricy , however, they were the only ones to found the problem and fixed it. Gotta give em props!

I live right across the street from these guys and have always enjoyed seeing the constant selection of cool vintage BMWs when I walk by their lot. So when my Volvo broke down and started pouring coolant from under the car, it was the first place that I thought to call. They work mostly on BMWs but I was happy to discover that they would fix my car. Having worn different hats in the auto industry over the years, I've seen my fair share of shops and I can say that you're not likely to find one that looks more organized that what they have here. Even the service desk/reception area looks nice, efficient and clean. From start to end, they had my car for just over a week, which at first impression seemed a bit long, but it's understandable because I was behind everyone else who had an appointment. When I dropped my car off, I was even treated to the sight of a pretty 3.0CS and E34 M5 - stuff like that brightens up the day of gearheads like me. The total tab was definitely more expensive than it would have been at the other Volvo specialist I usually go to, but I know the work was done right and the tech gave me a very thorough list of some 20 odd repair items that my car needed - most of which I knew about but some that I didn't. Like some other reviews have said, they talked me out of some services that they thought I could do a lot more cost-effectively on my own. Patrick was good about keeping me up to speed about what was going on and taking the time to explain in detail why and how the repair was going to be done. When I picked up my car, the tech was eager to take a few minutes with me to poke around under the hood to explain what he had done and what he thought needed attention. I got my car back washed, along with a thank-you note and some candy in the center console. Nice touch.Bottom line - these guys want you to be confident that they know what they're doing and that they care - and it shows. It's not cheap - but with car repair you get what you pay for. I don't know that I'd take my car to them for everything, but if you're looking for dealer expertise without the dealer price tag, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place.

So, I am new to the luxury german automobile lifestyle (my previous car was a 1993 Geo Prizm that finally became just too embarassing to drive), so I wasn't accustomed to the price tag at my local dealer for routine maintenance. After the first year's maintenance was done at Phil Smart and I found myself wondering if I could afford to maintain my car, I decided to look for alternatives for the second year's maintenance.Car Tender was great! Friendly service representative, good service and about 1/2 the price as at the dealer. I'll be going back every year!

I trust these guys alot. Everything is explained clearly, and they'll go thru what they plan to do step by step. When they realized they needed more time to investigate my problem I got a call for permission. And once they suspected my issue was going to cost me a ton of money, they made it clear that I should attempt to let my warranty cover the problem. The service rep even laid out a game plan for me to take to the dealer. I left the shop with a better understanding of what was going on with my car and what my options were. I don't think I was even charged the full amount of time they spent researching issues going on with my car. These guys will be on the top of my list if needed again.
